Ei bine, scara Z este o scara destul de nou aparuta in modelismul feroviar si are foarte putini adepti in Romania. In acest moment, cu exceptia prietenului nostru Lucian (LUCIUS) eu nu mai cunosc. Producatorii de accesorii pentru astfel de diorame sunt foarte putini si au preturi exorbitante. Pornind de la acest fapt, Lucian, m-a desemnat sa-i prezint ultimele lucrari pe aceasta tema. Pe LUCIUS il mai stiti de cand cu macheta la aceeasi scara a garii Curtea de Arges, o capodopera arhitectonica feroviara. Daca intre timp la gara cu pricina inca mai este de lucru, iata ca au vazut lumina zilei o cetate bavareza si un mic bloc. Pentru ca Lucian duce lipsa de timp liber pentru a va prezenta chiar el aceasta macheta care va va uimi cu adevarat, am sa va reproduc eu imaginile si textul pe care el mi le-a furnizat pe parcursul a cateva episoade, care sper sa se constituie intr-un ghid util in cazul in care doriti sa realizati si voi asa ceva.
Oh well, the Z scale its quite new on the model train world and it has very few followers in Romania. On this moment, except for our friend Lucian (LUCIUS) I don’t know any other. The accessories producers for such a layout are very few and they have prohibit prices. Starting from this fact, Lucian asked me to show you all his work. You all must remember LUCIUS, the one who built the model of the Curtea de Arges railway station on the same Z scale, a real masterpiece of railway architecture. If, in the meantime, the station needs to be completed, a Bavarian peasant citadel and a small block-house saw the daylight. Because Lucian is not having enough time to show you his really amazing works, I will have “the mission” to offer you his pictures and explanations. I hope this will be a useful guide in case you wish to create something similar.
Materialul folosit este un plastic special pentru modelaj, folosit adesea la realizarea decorurilor, cu o grosime de 2.5mm. Cetatea noastra are patru componente.
The material used is a special plastic for modeling, used often to build sceneryes (mise en scenes), and is 2.5mm thick. Our citadel has four parts.
1. Corpul principal / Building’s main body
2. Turnul fortificat / The fortified tower
3. Structura de baza / The basic structure
4. Zidul de incinta si turnul de observatie / The enclosure wall and observation tower
Dupa realizarea proiectului se traseaza placile din plastic. Se incepe cu corpul principal. Componentele turnului raman laolalta pana la trasarea pietrelor. Pentru a reda cat mai realist bolovanii, fiecare dintre acestia se realizeaza manual cu o surubelnita de mici dimensiuni. Urmeaza decupajul ferestrelor cu un cutter dupa care se finiseaza.
After the project is ready, the plastic boards are being mapped. It begins with the main body of our construction. The tower’s components are staying together until the stones are being drawn. For a more realistic reproduction of the boulders, each of them are manually accomplished with a small screwdriver. Cutting and finishing the windows using a cutter, is the next step.
Se decupeaza cu grija fiecare perete. Every wall is carefully cut up.
De remarcat faptul ca marginile corpului principal au o structura ca de caramida pentru a le pune in evidenta. Notice that the main body’s structure edges, have a brick-like shape in order to highlight them.
Se dubleaza interiorul cu o folie adeziva neagra. The interior is covered with a black adhesive foil.
Folia are rolul de a nu permite luminii sa patrunda prin pereti ci numai prin ferestre in momentul iluminarii machetei. La imbinari marginile peretilor vor fi ajustate la 45° pentru o mai buna asamblare. The foil acts like a shutter to prevent the light to penetrate through the walls, and to let the light pass only through the windows, when the building is lighted (interior lights). At the joints the walls edges will be adjusted to 45° for a better assembly.

Dupa asamblare “turnul fortificat” trebuie rectificat la muchii ca sa nu se observe imbinarea. After the assembling the “fortified tower” it’s edges must be corrected in order to hide the assemblage traces.
Structura de piatra a peretilor este conceputa in asa fel incat creeaza impresia de continuitate. The walls stone structure is designed so, to create the impression of continuity.
Se incearca diverse variante de asamblare. Different ways of assembling are being tested.
