(ENG) A new filmstrip will enter today in our collection, a movie of the former Cinematographic Studios “
ANIMAFILM” (Bucharest), produced in 1974 for the same Ministry of the Railways in Romania, entitled “
WORKERS OF THE MOTION AND COMMERCIAL BRANCHES! RESPECT THE LABOR PROTECTION STANDARDS”. The movie belongs to the labor protection genre, and this time presents the activities inside the railyards, showing us in images, the labor protection norms on these areas.
Many of you may be curious about how the railway people’s “life” in Romania looked with tens of years ago, bbout the way they looked, about the types of coaches and engines, endowments, etc, some of them disappeared nowadays, some of them remained the same over the years.
On this movie I discovered a Diesel electrical machine totally forgotten today, most probably scrapped:
DA-607. Also, a steam machine belonging to the ex- 40.000 series of the CFR (national romanian railways),
40.066 machine, a
D-h2 type (the
G8 “Prussian”) wich was assigned for the last time to Constanta Depot, produced in the year
1921 by the
Orenstein & Koppel, Berlin- Drewitz company, and scrapped at 21-th november 1980 – leading to the exceptional writing “
The history of railway traction from Romania” by
Ilie Popescu and
Serban Lacriteanu. Anyway, untill now the image of the 40.066 machine it seems to remain unique…
The movie still remains untill today an useful guide for the handle personnel, because, at least in Romania, many things remained almost the same regarding the characteristics of this type of work.
Many special thanks to
Cristian Glodeala for scanning and recover those precious images!
Orenstein & Koppel, Berlin-Drewitz in anul
1921 si casata la 25.11.1980 – conform cu lucrarea de exceptie “
Istoricul tractiunii feroviare din Romania” a autorilor
Ilie Popescu si
Serban Lacriteanu.
